Guild Rules

Background

Delirium is a wow wotlk guild made up mostly of mature ppl with age ranging between 20 to 50 and spread out through Europe, we pride ourselves with the highest alcohol consumption on the server.
Even drunk as we usually are, we are a raiding guild with strict attendance, we raid 4 official nights from 19:30 to 0:00 and our goal in a very simple term is to have fun.

We pride ourselves with a guild chat and raid amotpshere that is just plain fun and amusing to log on too

Main Principles of the guild

1) Self responsibility - This means our ppl have the guild in mind and have the raiding goal of the guild set as their own.
For example of what this sometime elusive principle means: we don't believe in handholding people, we come to raid prepared with potions and repairs, we make sure we know all the tactics of bosses we can (possibly) encounter beforehand without being told and if possible even seen some movies, and we are there on time or let the guild know when we cannot make it in time.

Another part of self-responsibility is knowing your class and be responsible for your gear. Don't be shy, ask people to go to a certain instance if you need a certain item. Don't be shy, if you need some explanations about how to play your class, ask someone who (apparently) knows it better and can explain you how to improve your performance. You'll see the game is much more fun if you perform more efficient.

Self-responsibility gives great freedom, but requires more from you! You are responsible, behave like a responsible person and this guild will have great times.

2) Attendance - The guild has 4 official raiding days (although we may raid unofficially as well) these days are: Sunday,Monday,Wednesday,Thursday members are expected to attend at least 3 out of 4 of these official raids. the Guild is ours and we need to make sure we can trust the people we have > be sure to upkeep the principle. While we're in the process of gearing ourselves up for bigger, better and harder instances, we'll aim for going on heroic 5 mans and 10 man raids.

3) Sense of humor - Probably our most important principle, being able to give and take a joke are a must, we always assume that no matter how low or offending something is said to us, it is always said with a smile, and we are always right.

Guild is all about having fun, laughing our ass off on a regular base is a big part of that.

GUILD SETUP

GuildMaster, Officers, Role leaders, Members, Friend, Candidates , Probation. (actual rank names are changed on a random base)

The size of the management (GM+Officers/Role leaders) in delirium is kept very small on purpose, we don't believe in much need for management for the simple reason that we have good hearted, smart people in the guild who will always keep the benefit of the guild in mind, the guild pretty much runs by itself with the management mainly focusing on organizing stuff and "making it happen".

Couple of notes:
1) We don't have class leaders, there is no need, ppl are expected to know their class well and with the self responsibility principle are expected to discuss by themselves to improve each other's performance (especially your own)
2) The friend rank is rarely used and is there for long time members who can't make the raiding days, and we just love them and can't say goodbye , it's very rarely used.
3) Probation - Well thats basically a big warning sign for some1 who behaved badly in some way. In the view of guild management this person has not behaved as a responsible person, and due to this is not eligible to receive any loot for as long as the probation lasts. The probation can be set for a certain time, however, it is more likely that guild management will only promote back to member when this person has shown he can and will behave as a responsible person.

RECRUITMENT/TRIALS

We try to keep the process simple and efficient, we got recruitment officers who view the applications, talk with applicants and make decisions, the management trusts them and they are able to invite candidates as they see fit.

Delirium never stops recruiting, we are always looking for people who are wanting to join a skilled raid team that enjoy learning and beating new raid content whilst having a barrel of laughs along the way. Just because your class/spec is not on the recruitment list does not mean you won't be accepted. We treat every application equally and fairly; therefore if you class/spec is low in demand, your application will have just a good chance of being accepted as an application from a class in high demand. Always feel free to apply.

Delirium has 2 trial periods. The first is when you actually apply to guild. During this period you will most likely have convos with members of the mangement here and guild members, they will also leave comments on your app forms and you may even join a raid or 2 with us. How you respond to these has an effect on the final decision of weather you'll be accepted or not. Don't leave questions un-answered, think about your response and do your best to impress. This period can last any time from a few days to a week.

Should you be accepted into the guild then the 2nd trial phase will begin. This period will last around a month and you will begin to raid with us on a more regular basis. During this time we will monitor your performance in raids through dmg meters and your ability to adjust to tactics, as well as your attitude, both towards fellow guild members including both in and out of raids. Once you've obtained 75% on our raid tracking system you'll be eligable for promotion. If the trial is a fail you'll be informed and asked to leave.

LOOT RULES

Delirium has a special way of awarding our members item drops. We don’t believe in DKP systems and have thus never used it, nor do we plan to. We decide upon loot via a loot council method. This is basically where the Master Looter along with the guild management decides upon whom best to give the item to. When making this decision we follow a list of priorities, these are (in order):

Main > Alt

Main spec > off spec

Full member > Trialist

Item ilvl upgrade > no item ilvl upgrade

In a situation where multiple full members or trialist want an item for their main spec with each gaining an equal upgrade we put these people into a separate group and ask them to discuss and resolve who gets the item amongst themselves. They are also times when the management believes that following these set of priorities don’t always benefit the guild as a whole. In these situations we encourage people to pass the item for others.

We believe in equal loot distribution that benefits the guild as a whole. So be happy for your guild friends, when any person receives loot after the decision is made even if it is not you > the guild is stronger and it will be easier to get all the loot later on so don't be a loot whore, loot is really just a bunch of numbers stored on a computer in france anyways ;)

One final note on requesting loot; the master looter will link an item via a raid warning and asks who wants the item. You should wait for item to be linked in the raid warning before asking for a specific item, when the item you want is linked you should then whisper the master looter linking the current item you are replacing and informing them if it’s for main or off spec. Doing this makes the loot process faster which leaves more time for drinking.

RULES OF RAIDING

- Attend 3 out of 4 Sunday,Monday,Wednesday,Thursday 19:30 till 0:00
- Final authority regarding raids is guild message of the day, always read it.
- On official raiding days, even if you are not in raid you must still be online until raid ends, with the stupid state of the Internet and WoW we will have some ppl DC for sure.
- On official raiding nights if you are on standby you may be called to join at any time, if u are in party give them 5 minutes notice to find a replacement for you and then leave to join the raid, do not delay, the guild is counting on you. Hint: go set your char at the instance's entrance and go level/play an alt.
- If there is a raid on an unofficial day, you are not obligated to join it, but you are encouraged.
- Raid official invites start at 19:00 with the raid starting 19:30. By that time u must be ready at instance entrance

- Following the self responsibility concept of the guild, ppl are expected to know tactics and already watched some movies and in general come prepared, no handholding here and usually no tactic explanations at all during the raid.
- BTW expect to wipe, alot. (meaning many many times)
- Have fun

BEHAVIOR & EXPECTATIONS

- Respect people in- AND outside the guild. Treat them with more regard than you'd like to be regarded. Treat them the same way you'd want to be treated.
- Please speak up when you feel it's needed. Problems that are not addressed will not be fixed. Not everything in WoW is magic.
- During raids the Raid Leader can claim the TeamSpeak channel. When people chat simultaneously it only creates a mish-mash of noise. When the RaidLeader speaks, everyone else is silent and listens to what the RL has to say. TS is a powerful tool, it should only be used if you have something relevant or urgent to say.
- During raids the Raid Leader decides about tactics. Even if you disagree, you follow his tactic. Of course the Raid Leader always listens to suggestions and if you have an idea that you think may improve then you should whisper him. Shouting it out through raid or guild chat only undermines the raid leaders authority and whispering is a far better way to go.
- The TeamSpeak server is (not) a toy, Have fun with it, but respect it as a necessary tool > don’t spam and don’t interfere when encounters are happening.
- Don't be shy, interact with ppls , there is no such thing as a stupid joke or question.
- Again, have fun :) Wow is a game, at no point should your experience be un-enjoyable.
